Default kfx400 question about the carb

I have a 2003 kfx400. I bought a carb off e-bay from a 2006 z 400. Everything looks the same but on the 06 z400 carb there is a sensor of some type that plugs into the carb. My old carb dose not have this nor dose my wire harness have the plug to plug into the new carb. Can I use this carb with out the sensor. What dose this sensor do any ways. Please help me.

Yeah you'll be fine. Just throw it in there and run it. You can cut the wires off or ziptie them up. The sensor is a throttle position switch for the 05 up ignition. It was supposed to give more throttle response or something by advancing the timing a little bit. It's not really a sensor just a switch that tells the cdi if you are at wide open throttle or not. Even unplugged on the 05 up's it made no difference on how the quad runs.

Thanks, I will give it a try. I have to find out what's going on with the starter first but after that I hope to be on the trails. Thanks again.
