Kawasaki 2012 Brute Force 750 EPS ride and review
#22
Is that 50 HP at the crank, or 50 HP at the rear wheels? Just wondering. I'm thinking of getting a 2012 Brute Force here in a few weeks. Wondering how much of a step down in power its going to be compared to my Can Am 800?

No the dealer wasn't trying to make a sale. The dealer is my uncle who was one of the dealers invited to the special unvailing of the new BF. Here are some real world numbers and if you choose to call BS, then I guess you are the king of know it all.
Prior year bf750 models were 51HP at the crank. The 2012 bf is 62HP. And if you want to speak to guys at Nyroc or Brute force central or heck, even Mike Penland, you will find out that the modification that kawie did to that motor can easily bump the HP by 10.
So, go ahead and call BS and we will crown you king of know it all.

Here you go from the real Kawi literature, Factory Service Manual.

In case you don't know what PS means, think of that as a metric Horsepower.
If it was that easy, Kawi woould not have taken 7 model years. 2005 was the first year that BF750 came out.
I know the truth hurts, but it must be told. And everyone needs to be aware of BS.
I don't know it all (as you assume) but I know a few things about quads since I work on those for living.
BTW, who's "we"?

I've owned a few of both models- Powerwise- the brute feels very much like the can-am bottom end. but the can-am quickly pulls away at the mid range & top end.I think you'll miss your can-am suspension. I hated my brutes suspension- felt like driving an old 83 chevy 3/4 ton scottsdale p/u with rancho shocks and over inflated tires- the bars would tear out of my hands on what seemed to be every rock over 6". I honestly think going from a can-am outty to a brute is a step down.

Well, after doing some research, looks like I over spoke. I stand correct and the real HP is 50. Thus I apologize to Hayashi for being an a$$.. Love eating crow sometimes, but at least I will man up. Sorry Hayashi.

Your apology is well taken and I am impressed that you admitted your mistake. I don't see something like that often at all in forums.
Just look at some of my posts. You will realize I am here to help other Kawi riders.
