kfx 400 engine problem
Hey guys I need some help with my bike. Last winter i was riding with my friends down a country road in 5th gear about half throdle. About half way down the road my bike acted like it was cutting out and then died so i slowed down and poped the clutch to start it back up it would run a little giving it gas but ticked really bad. When i tried starting it with the electric start it acted like the battery was dead and would not crank over at all. And when i got it back to my house i put a battery charger on it and it would bearly crank with it on. I just looked at the starter clutch and all the gears and all the teeth look fine. Now im thinking that maybe it skipped time so im going to look at that next. Any ideas?

#1 Pull the plug and see what it looks like.
#2 Turn it over with the plug out and see what it sounds like when do.
#3 Drop a little oil and see what it looks like.(is it all metaled up?)
#4 If it turns over normal in test #2 take a compression reading.
#5 Get back to us with what you find out.

I know it may sound stupid but I rode for the first time since last year the other day and mine did the same thing. but my problem was that i forgot to turn the gas on . but start with checking the simple things first.
1. Make sure gas is on LOL.
2. Check the choke.
3. Old Gas?
4. Check plug.
5. Check Compression if you have a compression tester
6. Let me know what it was
Thanks!
