'86 Bayou 300 starter replacement
I need to change out the starter motor assembly on my 86 Bayou 300 2x4 asap and in leiu of having time to get the manual (which I will) does anyone know the procedure for this to prevent the idler gear and chain from falling out of place so the new starter splined spindle can be engaged in the gear?
the last time I did this I did not do anything and had to remove the cover from the opposite side to engage the spindle and gear and would like to avoid this.
Thanks
