Does anyone know if the turning radius on the 650 is tighter than on the Prairie 400? I'm hoping so, because it is fairly large on my Prairie. (I wish Kawasaki would hurry up and update their website with the details on the 650).

I haven't seen it posted anywhere, but in my experience, it seems quads w/ selectable 4 wheel drive have a better turning radius than those with full-time 4 wheel-drive.

According to my brochure it is 10.2 feet turning radius.

The beast is near! Our dealer has one unit shipping down from Seattle & will be here any day now.

Snowshark, if your brochure is right, it is exactly the same as my /97 Prairie. Oh well, its not bad, I just wish it was a bit tighter.
I hope your dealer is right about when he is getting one. You aren't excited by any chance, are you? Ha!

well i know that it will have a better top end speed, but i mean as for how it will pull through the gears, i know the top speed of my lakota is around 49-51, the 650 is around 65 + or -, thats great, its a pretty big decision to me on buying a new four wheeler, the suspension should be close to the lakota i would think considering the weight difference, oh well i cant wait to see and ride one,

97lakotaOEM, The 650 Prairie is an automatic, so I don't know what you mean by "pulling through the gears". If you are wondering if it will pick up speed as fast as your Lakota, we'll have to see, but from what Kawasaki was saying, it will go from 0 to 60 "in a heartbeat".
The suspension is more utility oriented from what I have read. One test I read said that the front suspension is too soft for high speed cornering etc., so the front end dives. Apparently Kawasaki is going to offer stiffer springs as an option for those who want to use it for aggressive riding. It would be hard to compare the ride of the Prairie to a Lakota. They are very different quads. You should ride one before you buy it.

The Prairie has a towing capacity of 1250 pounds & its racks are rated for 88 front & 176 rear.

I thought that there was mention that the 650 will wheelie, can't remember.

My dealer told me that any day they will have one on the floor & that they will call me when it comes in.

it was a figure of speech when i said pulling through the gears, i knew the 650 was fully auto i just forgot, what i meant was i hope it PULLS hard ,like lay you back, a blast from the past, just like when your in a mustang being floored where you cant pull your head off the seat from the G force, hahhahahhah just kidding, i just hope its pretty fast and peppy
