Hi, I have my mates 300 bayou in my shed which isnt charging, we put a brand new battery in it last week while doing some other work on it (it had been left in a field since last july) anyway after a good service and a new plug and a small bit of wiring it started and ran jus fine, drove fine and all electrics working as they should so he took it away and was driving it when it died we jumped it off my jeep and checked the voltage which was only running at 11.2 or 3, and it cut out again, does anyone know if the generators give trouble in these bikes or would rectifier trouble give the same symptoms

 

Yes, either faulty generator or rectifier give the same symptom.

Check the AC output voltage on the generator just by cranking with a fully charged battery with the spark plug removed (for easier cranking).
