Default tire size

im fairly new to riding and was wondering if bigger tires then factory size would affect handling, performance, etc. also would like opinions on tires. considering itp mudlites, but have heared they dont stand up to much. i ride a 2011 brute force 750. factory tire size is 25x8x12 and 25x10x12. appreciate all opinions. thanks

Depends how big you want to get.
Just like anything else there are pros and cons:

Pros:
> Better traction/grip
> Looks better/more aggressive

Cons:
> More wear and tear on drivetrain and CVT components inc. belt
> Higher CG

In general moving to a larger tire creates a power/speed loss but on a 750 that has a low range I would not worry about it.
Another advantage is more ground clearance.

I have Mudlites and there 6 ply tires and tuff. Careful with those though they come in 3 lug heights.
AT- 3/4"
XL- 1-1/8"
XXL- 1-3/4"

So a 25" XL will still have more traction then a larger 26" AT mudlite.

I always stay stock in tire size but get a much more aggressive lug.
That way I lose no performance or add stress to CV joints , axles and drivetrain yet gain much more traction.

Cool

I've had good luck so far with my GBC tires. Here's their mud grip tire; ATV/UTV , MUD HOG

Don,t go overboard on the lug height and aggressiveness. A 1-1/8th will be "good" in the mud and general trial riding.
A hard core 1-3/4 mud lug will be "great" in the mud but cause your teeth fillings to vibrate out of you mouth on general trail rides.

No one is mud riding 100% of the time.
