Big Battery Setups???
#1
My '06 Prairie 360 came with a nice remote winch, but it's not hooked up. Prev. owner said the winch was killing the battery, which makes sense, since the stock battery is pretty tiny. I went to put a bigger battery in the compartment under the seat, but even a riding lawnmower battery won't fit.
This seems like an obvious issue that many others have faced, so I figured it would make a good post.
I'm thinking of mounting a battery box on the back rack, and adding a group 24 deep cycle battery. THAT would give it enough juice!
What have you done to get more battery capacity?
Pics would be nice, if you have them.
Thanks!

Never seen a stock battery not run any winch. Your supose to only use the winch while the ATV is running which takes the battery out of play.
I used my winch even when the ATV battery was dead as long as the ATV was running.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm wondering if this is the stock battery. It's pretty tiny, doesn't even fill up the battery box under the seat, but there are foam blocks that fill the space, so maybe it is the stock battery.
I'll have to hook it back up and try it as-is, and see what happens.
Even so, I'm still curious if anyone has added bigger batteries to their rig. I tend to use the winch for lifting stuff while I fix it, and may not want the motor running all the time.
Again, thanks for the information.
