I have a 1994 Bayou 300 4x4...It will run but has a miss almost like it has the hiccupps...Also noticed the exhaust pipe is getting cherry red coming from the cylinder head...I cleaned the carb...new spark plug...and adjusted the valves...is it possible that the pre muffler could be stopped up like a catalytic converter on a car and can I remove the pre muffler without having other issues...THANS STEVE

 

Have you tried cleaning the spark arrester? Pull the plug out of the muffler and run the machine banging on the muffler. Did you change the fuel filter and clean/replace air filter

 

Yes has new Fuel filter and KN Air filter...I guess my main question is can I safely remove the pre muffler and weld it up without causing any problems...Just to eliminate that as a potential problem. THANKS

 

Well seems to be fixed now...exhaust was fine but went through the carb again and runs great with no red hot exhaust
