Ok, it's not hard to understand. You will get the biggest results by changing the front sprocket. A one tooth difference on the front is like a two - three tooth change on the rear.
Going down a tooth on the front will increase low-end (you will notice the engine will rev faster). But you will loose top-end because the engine is hitting it's MAX RPM's sooner. Increase the size by one tooth and the effect is opposit. You gain top-end (at the expence of low-end power) since the engine can wind out longer. Reverse the principal if you are changing the rear sprocket size.
