Default Bayou 300 carb issue

91 bayou 300 cleaned carb ( previous owner said it would only run with choke on). Same prob now after completely cleaning carb and new spark plug installed... Any ideas??? Thks in advance

The previous owner may have been "fiddling" with the jet sizes etc. I don't think the jet needle is adjustable in the KLF300 but check and, if it is, raise it a notch, checking the diaphragm for leaks at the same time. If it isn't adjustable, this is one case when I would go for a carb rebuild kit. Use only the needles and main jet, and see how it runs.

Check the rubber boots from the head to the carb and carb to air box. The boots are notorious for air leaks. The carb rebuild kit is inexpensive and easy to put in.
