Default 2000 Kawasaki Prairie 300 4x4 reverse override problem

My 2000 Prairie 4x4 reverse override isn't engaging it just bogs & sputters with no power. looking for any advise on a possible fix?
also my speedometer stopped working any ideas?

The override is just an electrical bypass, could be a loose wire or connection, check and clean all connections. As far as your speedo not working, probably needs a new speedo cable. I had a praire 300 2000 and my speedo quite working after about 4-5 years and found the speedo cable where it connects into the back of the speedo was never tightened at the factory and water got into the cable and rusted/broke the cable. Replaced the cable and used a cable lube tool every couple years and made sure connection were tight and never had another problem.
