The Kawie VTwins are awesome....and I believe the first to install the VTwin in to an ATV. I have a Prairie 700 ( only made them in SRA ), the sound, the power...love it! I have had two 660 Grizzlys, they were great bikes as well. Question, did you choose the SRA over an IRS, or you just got a great deal on the SRA?

Scooter is dead on with this one. I installed TRX450R front shocks on my wife's KFX700 and it made a big difference. In my opinion, the stock suspension on these Kawasakis is awful. The front is incredibly stiff riding for normal stuff, but not bad for jumps. I managed to get a pair of brand new Honda shocks off of Ebay for a $150. Very well worth the money.

Its more like what was available for the amount I wanted to spend. I wanted something with low mileage with decent power and didn't want to spend a fortune. All the other quads in that price range($3500-$4000) either were smaller and didn't have enough power or had way too many miles for my liking. They had a 2014 Sportsman 800 for $3999. It had 8600 miles and 700 hours on it, I didn't want to buy something with that many miles already on it. The Brute had only 1335 miles, I feel a very low amount. I've seen quads one year old with more miles than that. But even if that weren't the case, I would have picked the SRA all other things being equal. It still has plenty of ground clearance and I don't notice that much difference in ride quality either. It just feels sportier. I find myself powersliding around corners with the extra power, its fun to hear that v-twin wind up a bit. Especially on steep hillclimbs, the front end doesn't feel as light as the Grizzly did. The extra power doesn't hurt either though the Grizzly newer felt underpowered. Even in high range, it still has plenty of power to putt around at slow speeds and will literally crawl down a steep hill. It goes slower in high downhill than the Grizzly did in low. I think the Grizzly's engine braking was about shot so it was allowing it to freewheel almost. It also has a very nice set of almost new Mudlite Ats on it too in stock size, that's probably a tire I would have picked myself. I think it has about the same top speed as the Grizzly, It just gets there a bit quicker. I only have had it up to 53 mph so far but it has plenty more than that. Had to slow down as I ran out of road. I think it will do about 65 mph on top end, that's about what I've read and that seems about right. I do believe the 650 v-twin was the first in an atv. Polaris put the 700 in the Sportsman the same year(2002) but its an inline twin. Also the first year of the Grizzly 660. 2002 was the birth of the big bore atv class. Before that, 500cc was the biggest other than the Grizzly 600, which wasn't a bad machine. I had a friend who had one of those but the 660 was so much better.
