Diff lock not working

I just bought a 1996 Kawasaki bayou 300 4x2 and the rear diff lock is not working if I put it in unlock it acts like it in neutral when it's in the lock position only one wheel spins

Sounds like you have broken a half shaft or a half shaft spline has worn out. Take the one that isn't driving, out, and check it.
