The Canadian Kawasaki site has the specs up for the new Prairie before the US site. Check it out. There are some interesting features like a “tip-over” sensor that shuts off fuel when at more than 65 degrees, and they increased the rear tire thickness from 3.2mm to 4mm. I didn’t like reading that the composite rack covers are optional parts. Besides the rack covers and trailer hitch, I wonder what else they are leaving off to reach their 604lbs?

The tip over sensor will need an override for anyone who rides in ruts. 65 degrees is not a severe angle around here.

Thanks for the link. I've read that the plastic is thinner and the racks are thinner metal to save weight. You're right, I'm also left wondering where else they "compromised" to meet their weight goals. With that little 3.75 gallon fuel tank feeding 2 carbs, you'll probably add that weight back by having a gas can on the racks a lot of the time anyways. I also have some reservations about the engine braking system, and the reverse power limiter that us Polaris owners all hate (Its too bad these bikes are now designed by lawyers).

Don't get me wrong, there's lots of good things on this bike, but it looks like its still needs some refinements. I'm not going to be in the line to put my money down sight-unseen.
