Default 2016 BF 750 eps

Was looking for a little advise. Got me a used 2016 BF 750 eps SE. 800 km on it from a local dealer. I got it with tracks installed, never got to ride it with tires. I drove a 700 Kodiak with eps and the eps seemed to work a lot better. If I'm sitting on the ATV while it's not moving I can't move the handlebars at all. I can only move the bars when the bikes moving. Just don't seem to be working very good. No eps light on. It will turn on if I pull the fuse out. I tried it with the fuse out and it was harder to steer but not crazy different. Just wondering if anyone else had a BF with tracks to compare. Thanks in advance.

Your EPS sounds like its working just fine, mine's the same way.

If you really want to see what its like when its not working remove the inline 40 amp EPS fuse that's under the seat and take it for a ride.

Kawasaki probably has the least assist EPS on the market. I wish it was a little better than it is.

I'm sure the tracks would somewhat overwhelm any eps system as they're a lot heavier than any wheel/tire combo unless you go with super huge over 30" massive mud tires. I'm guessing the Kodiak probably had stock tires on it. Yamaha's eps is arguably the best though. I have rode a Grizzly 700 with eps and it was great but it just had stock tires too. I did consider buying a used Brute Force 750 with eps a couple years ago but passed on it. Didn't test ride it to see how the eps was, I think it just had stock tires on it.

I prefer Suzuki's EPS to Yamaha's. It works well without removing all the trail feedback via the steering.
I think the Polaris has the best anti-kickback EPS.
I hear good things about Can Am's but I haven't experienced it myself.
Kawasaki's could use a little more assist at low speeds.

Any of them are better than nothing.

Eps is something nobody knew they needed before it existed in an atv. Now its something most people want. Yamaha was the first though with the 2007 Grizzly 700. I'm not sure if the rest were planning on adding eps or just reacted to Yamaha doing it.

Honda had it n the shelf years before anyone else had it.
Honda at one time the leader and today they barely follow.

Honda may have had it "on the shelf", but didn't fit it until about 2010. Honda don't follow, they go their own way, longtitudinal pushrod engines, for example. Some ideas work, and other makers copy them. Some don't work too well, the ridiculously over complex auto gearbox system for example, but that is the "dare to be different" Honda way.
