I bought a new 220 for my wife 3 weeks ago. She was riding my Polaris 325 Trailboss a lot and wanted one for herself, she prefers the clutchless shift though. She rode the Lakota Sport and the Honda 250EX but I thought they had too much power for her weight. So we got the Bayou 220.
After riding it she kept telling me it handled akward, because of the angle of the front wheels. I didn't notice it as much because my body weight kind of straightens them out. It don't handle as good and steer as easy as my Trailboss. We went riding last week and she lost control, in second gear, and it threw her off and rolled over her. She now has 2 broken ribs, but the quad wasn't hurt.
I would recommend going ahead and getting your wife the Honda 250EX or Lakota Sport. If my wife would have got one of these I don't think she would of wrecked. They seem a lot easier to handle and a more stable than the Bayou.

hey 325TrailBoss, has she been riding long? she may have flipped because of inexperience. i flipped when riding for the 1st time on a pond covered with snow. i know that was because of my inexperience. I am getting better @ riding, though. things that used to scare me, don't any more.I am glad your wife is ok. I love the Lakota sport!

 

325Trailboss, I was wondering how the 220 does against your Boss. Is the 220 much faster?
