Default cloudy sight glass, how to tell oil level?

220 bayou. How to tell oil level? Can't see in the sight glass. tried looking in the fill hole and guess, but that didn't really work. Tried sticking a small screw driver in the fill hole, but it doesn't go all the way down before it hits the case.

What i had to do was.
1 Drain the oil.
2 Fill with diesel fuel
3 Roll the bayou back and forth to slosh the diesel around.
4 Repeat step 3.
5 Repeat step 3.
6 Drain the diesel and look to see if you can see in. if you cant see in repeat till you can.
7 Replace oil filter and oil.

P.S. The longer you let the diesel set in the case the more of a chance the rubber seal on the oil cap will swell up.

BTW Make certain that you do not trash the filter bypass with the filter...
