Kawasaki Prairie 360 Wont Idle and Backfires
Hey y'all, I'm having trouble with my Prairie 360 4x4. I can start it up just fine, but when i do start it, it runs real rough and backfires. I bought a new carb and installed it, made sure all the jets were clean and put fresh gas in the tank. also I installed a new spark plug. I can drive the thing but when i do it wont go over 5 mph. Any ideas??

Saw your post in the other forum.
From what I have read, I all bets are off with a chinese carb or something other than oem. I assume it is other because oem is pricey. I could be wrong on both counts though.
how long have you owned machine and has it ever run right? Why did you replace carb rather than thoroughly clean jets and passages?

I bought a new carb, as I am rather new to carb work and such. I bought it back in 2009 new from the dealership, and its ran great till about 2 years ago. I don't remember if it stopped running great and that's why it sat, or if it sat and that's why its not running great. with the new carb it is running exactly the same with the old one, so i could try putting the old one back in?

Sounds like both carbs may be gummed up.
Here is a good article which discusses how to clean a carb. Ninja, but same concept.
