Prairie 650 vs. Grizz 660 race results?

Ok Guys , here it is from a Grizzly 660 owner, I had the chance tonite to race a Prairie 650.
My First thought is kawaski and yamaha colaborate before releasing quads, here is why:
1) Accleration. Can you say even? We raced 15 time down a smooth 2 acre grass lawn. Wheel spin was not a factor at all. Both machines would pull the front wheels off the ground about 1- 2feet high on take off for about 15 feet then the race was on! Whoever got the jump won everytime by a slim margin. HOWEVER.......
2) Top Speed: Grizzly appears to have it here by about 4 mph. We DID NOT race side by side (mostly because I did not know the guy well enough to know how he rode a speed). We took my Etrex and each made 3 runs down a gravel pit hard pack road. The road is a mile long and top speed was acheived with both machines.
Kawasaki Results: 65.1 , 65.2 , 62.3 (He let off early on the last run)
Yamaha Results: 68.7 , 69.4 (SO CLOSE) 68.9.
I rode the 650 and he rode mine a while and we agreed both machines are great. The IRS shines on the grizz and the motor (I love it) shines on the Prairie. I do not think anyone could go wrong with either machine.

Ok Suzuki, get off your butt and make a V-twin, IRS, locking diff. quad. I would say the same to Honda (with the Hondamatic it would be GREAT), but Honda would probably not put disc brakes on it, or would detune the engine so that it puts out about half the hp of a comparable sized competitor's engine. Hey I own a Rubi and love it so don't tell me I am bashing

I agree shumdit, Honda thinks way too much about safty.
I did have the opertunity to speak with a Kawasaki factory rep a few months back about the Prairie 650. He told me production was delayed three times just to de-tune the Prairie engine because Kaw thought it was too much for a utility quad. I think with all these new big dogs and hot sport bike coming out the law suits will start again. If anyone recalls this is what stopped production of sport quads some eleven years ago. Hopefully we are all smarter/better riders than a decade ago. Smarter in that we stay away from Americas biggest problem creators (liers or layers or whatever they are) and better in that we crash less!!!
