Lakota Air Intake.

Is there supposed to be something like a piece of rubber over the the Lakota's air intake because I found a piece of rubber in it. It run's super now that I got it out.

Yes. That rubber piece is there to keep water and such from entering the intake tube. I have trimmed mine but left it acting as a guard towards the front since I like to ride in deep water.

Will it hurt anything if i Leave it Out. I usally don't ride in much water.

Hey Stebob and Big Bad,
What does it do when you take that piece out? Is it more air so it makes it faster. And bob, how does it perform better?
I have a lakota with no mods, and it runs ok, but a little more speed would be nice. I bought it in December and have had no problems with it.
