Not to stir up any dust or bad feelings, I just thought to share some info with ya'll. My buddy and I raced my 650 and his 660 grizzly right about 15 times or so on hard pavement and hard packed dirt. The Kawi650 won every time. I was scared to race him at first, thinking he would smoke me but I was wrong. First of all I out weight him by about 50 pounds. I had a full tank of gas, he was nearly empty. I can't beleive the low end torque on this thing. From the start I jumped ahead every time and he could never catch up. We raced on pavement for a stretch of about 3 miles. I had him by about 25 to 30 feet every time, on dirt and pavement. We also went into the water and mud. While we both went into some deep muck, the grizz did do some coughing and sputtering and the kawi held up strong. It loves the water. Don't get me wrong I like both quads. I'm happy with mine though. By the way we did switch off on quads a few times just to make it fare.

Thats pretty cool. Makes me glad that I've succeeded in getting the underdog quad again. I like that! Hell, I owned an Arctic Cat when 95% of the people I met asked me "Who makes a Arctic Cat? ... Uhh Honda or who?" I would always have figured the 650 to be quicker personally. 2 cylinders has been the forte of the Banshee for years, and it still kicks the crap out of most others in straight line speed. Of course I've heard equal result of the is 660 vs. 650 things from other sources, and I've heard people I know tell me of racing them and the 660 eating its lunch too. Problem here is I never raced them so I can't call it either way. I will say this much though. I just about guarantee you can race a 650 against another 650 (and the same for Grizzly's too) and one will probably be a bit quicker than the other one. Still, I'm glad you posted your results. Thanks for the info man.
