650 Chattering
#1
Hi,
I have seen several messages posted regarding a chattering coming from 650s when letting off the throttle or descending a hill in low gear. I also had this problem and it turned out to be a shifting linkage adjustment. Just got my machine back from the dealer and its running quiet as can be now, hope this helps some other folks.

Great. I was waiting for someone to tell us what is was that the dealer had adjusted for a few guys. What part of the shifting linkage needs to be adjusted, and how to I do it? I have the service manual, so it should be easy if you can tell me exactly what to adjust.
Bobbbb, how exactly did you make the adjustment on yours?
Thanks.

Being an owner of a KVF 650 and having experienced some of this chattering, I would also like to know what these adjustments are? I also have purchased the manual so if you could tell me what has to be adjusted, I am sure the manual will give the procedures to adjust this. If anybody else would like to have this procedure, I would be willing to post it if I could find out what this adjustment is? Thanks in advanced for your responce......... Maurice

Remove the covering air brather and you will see the shifting rod. I removed the plastic around the airbreather i dont know if this is needed but it made it easier. there is two locknuts on rod you have to loosenturn rod counter clockwise for mine anyways. good luck. the dealer would have done this for me but that meant taking to shop enjoying ridin this baby

I've been slowly making adjustments to this rod over the last few hours and I can't seem to make the chatter in low gear go away. Any help is appreciated.
