Prairie 650 Problem??
#11
Just to clarify the 18mph thing. Its really a saftey precaution. You can switch it in at any speed, just there may be some differences in handleing. The old Grizzly's and Kodiak's are the same way. Like a chevy truck, when 4x4 is engaged it must have no load on the front end and collars need to be perfectly aligned before it will engage. thus it may take a few feet or try steering from left to right without any throttle.

When changing from 2 wheeel drive to 4 wheel drive the conrol unit must sense speed for switching to occur up to 14 mph , anything over 14 mph will not switch, the control unit has an automatic retry system until full engagement/disengagement is achieved. The delay in engagement you experience is the coupling dogs getting lined up while the acuator & controller are working in retry mode.....No Problem.....Unless you are not getting engagement, Take it to your dealer for a check up.
