Just got done trying out a polaris 700 today and I am here to tell you Kawi-boys you have nothing to worry about. A friend of mine works at a Kawasaki/Polaris dealer and they just got the new 700 in yesterday. They took the Kawi 650 with .5 miles and the Polaris with .7 miles and drag raced them the length of their building (apprpox 300 ft.) and the kawi was a good 5-6 bike lengths ahead. Now before any of you polaris guys start bashing this post, I own a Raptor and could care less about the 4 x 4 market, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to let everyone know what I witnessed for myself.

Since when do 4x4 utilities become drag racing machines?

You know how it is. There is always someone that wants to go faster. Having a fast race quad is one thing. But having a fast 600+ lb. 4x4 utility machine is the ultimate thrill to impress your race buddies with!

Yes, and you know that has to **** off a sport quad guy when somebody else has something that will whip its ***, as well as go deep into places that a sport quad would be helpless. I'm all for these massive sport utilities. They aren't anything to scream about on an mx track, but damn, they are the perfect hybrid.

Yes my 650 beats a stock 400 ex. The 650 also does very well on an mx track. It handles air very gracefully.

Hey Bill,
No problem. I'm curious about the two stroke too. How did the mods work out? I have been trying to get my friends to go up to the Mounds the last few weeks, but they have been busy. I haven't been there yet with the kawi. We should meet up there. And before we line them up I'm already calling yours the winner. I know you can beat a 400 ex by a lot, and I can't beat mine by much. This thing is incredible though once you get used to it. I can take a 90 degree corner literally at 30 mph and punch the gas and power slide on through. Another weird thing is that whether on pavement or dirt I can come off the clutch hard on the 400 ex and the kawi will still take off faster. So much for belt driven automatics being slow to take off. What tires are you running right now?

JoelPolaris--- I know what you mean! This 650 has really got to be something if it is picking off stock 400ex's. Now keeping up on a MX track? thats a different story!
