650 troubles help!!!
#1
Well sold my HO and Bought new prairie 650 and kodiak for the wife. Picked up machines and after 10 minutes of riding (slow going) noticed smoke from around side fenders and a strong odor. Just thought it was some paint burning off because its new. then I noticed that it didnt seem to run as smooth as my friends 650, alot more floorboard vibration. Also it was what seemed like missfireing... You would hear a pop like backfire through at the carburator??? Headed home not sure what was up. Had my buddy come over with his and had him listen. 5 miles on machine. antifreeze started running on the ground... was comming out of over flow tank out tube. Decided to check the plugs, rear jug header pipe was all bubled (paint) like it got really hot, front pipe wasnt. Both my friends head pipes were not bubled and he has 200 miles on it. So I figure one cylender is running hotter. Pulled plugs out, rear plug was black, front was normal. cleaned plug replaced and still same problem. Any Ideas? I will of course bring back to the dealer as soon as they open tuesday but should I worry about any damage because of one cylender running so hot?? Could this be one of those choke problems?
Thanks Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Check your oil level, it may have been overfilled from the factory. I had a similar problem with mine. White smoke, backfire, loss of power. After a trip to back to the dealers, we found it was overfilled with oil. Oil had spurtted up into the air filter. Drained it downed, cleaned air filter and ran it for a few minutes and problem was solved.
