Shifter on 650 hard to move when quad is stuck?

I'm having trouble shift from reverse to drive when the quad is in the mud. It seems to happen when there is pressure on the drivetrain. Is anyone else having this problem?

if you hump your quad in a back in fourth motion it will shift easily

robert (quad humper)
