I'm putting on the Goki starter and I've been wrestling with the flywheel for 2 days now. I'm using the puller (just a big bolt supplied with the kit) and it will not drive any further to even start to pry it off - even with an impact wrench. Any ideas on how to get it off without destroying the internal threads of the flywheel would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,
Grannie

It is one of the toughest things to get off. Try letting some penetrating oil sit in where the puller (pusher) threads into the flywheel. Also try tapping it for a while but not to hard because you could damage it. Once you get it off it's all down hill from there Good luck

I see you have Works shocks, what did you do with your old ones? Are they any good? I would be interested.

Thanks Jeff, I'll give it a try.

The stock shocks were trashed - had 12 years of hard riding on them (my Mojave is an '88).

I always used a KAwasaki street bike rear axle to srew in it and yanked it, if that didn't work i used a pully too.

I had to heat the flywheel with a propane torch, with the puller, tapping with a rubber mallet. Not untill the flywheel was very hot did it pop off.
