I was wondering if anyone would have a 12t front sprocket for the lakota that they would sell. It must be in pretty good shape.

Agreed! The Lakota's gearing is WAY too low! I have a 2000 Lakota and using 1st gear is almost a waste of time!

Gaff, are you sure you still like the 13 tooth over the 12? I'm kinda getting the impression you like the 12 a little better for the low end and the easier wheelies. I still have not committed to changing to a 13. Still considering, I like my low end power. Top speed is not a priority for me since I never really open it up unless it's down the road. Now I didn't say I'm not full throttle, just not top speed.

Hay stebob, how was your thanks giving?

Have you gotten a birds eye view, or better of the mean machine.

I road quite a bit with the twelve tooth sprocket this week, and I liked it.
The wheelies and good gear salection was graet on this one track I was riding. Then I was just out of test mode and generaly riding different areas, and missed the 13T.
Now the wheelies are still thier with the 13T but just not as easy.
The 12T proved to be a much better salection on the small course I was on, I was getting a better gear salection and better corning with excellent exit speeds, but when I got to a more open area, I was moving way slower.
You feel the low end better but I feel it is because, I find thier is shift points on the lakota more in the mid range that make it quicker, with the 13T it takes more horse power to get the same feeling, but at the same time your moving much faster.
If you tried the same things in the same situation at speeds, you will find the 13T is far superior.
The 13T will carry the wheels alot further at a faster pace, because of the short shifting you seem to always be winding the bike out with the 12T.
I found also on this pretty small course I was say stuck between secound and third with the 13T were the 12T was faster due to I could hit my shift points better.
I don't believe I'm done with the 12T, but try and use it when I get in this perdicament again.
I found on the trails that third gear is a primary gear for me weather 12T or 13T, I also found that fourth gear doesn't have it with either sprocket were I would need it at.
Now fourth gear pulls way harder with the 13T and second and third gears are much longer of power ranges with the 13T.
I still can carry the front end in third with very little assistance of a bump or rock with the 13T, and for some reason the suspention feels better with the 13T.
I have entered my self into this coming season with the gncc, and first race I'll make is macon goergia. I believe thier is no room here for a 12T.
I would heavily suggest the 13T to any one, just for the pure fact it makes it more of a sport, and more competitive with the other quads.
I know every one is judging by drag racing, or top end speed, but in reality neither of these have come into play for me in some of the mx, enduro or cross country tracks I have ridden on.
I would like to raise the compression but probably only have enough time for a cam, but all in all, I haven't seen the lakota lag behind any thing yet in my style of riding.
But as we know rider ability is every thing, and I have only been on quads for three months now, I just see a very good set up that if I need more power this is the bike I want more power with!!
