Mud tires for Prarie 300 4x4
#1
Hi all this is my very 1st post and i would like EVERYONE'S opinion..To start things off we went riding this past weekend 2 hours from home. It was a 30 mile trail and was the best i have ever ridden on! The problem started when we got to the swamp area....those factory dunlops ruined my day totally...i got stuck and stayed there for 4 hours i had the only winch and all it did was pull the others into the swampy area....I am looking to buy some REAL MUD TIRES and was looking at the GATORS...i cant get the mudzillas or vampires because i dont want to put that kind of agression on my bike but i really want to show my buds up next month when we go back....the park is only opened once a month and i want to be the one bragging next month on the ride back home! All opinions are welcome and appreciated...thanks guys

I would like to tell you to get taller tires. Ground clearance would come in handy for me a lot. With my stock tires on, I get high centered in places following quads with more ground clearance.
Go ahead and get something a bit aggressive, just don't go aggressive and wide at the same time.
Mudrunners are excellent tires. Stock tires are ashamed to be on the same trail as a mudrunner and are likely to go flat faster or get stuck if mudrunners are watching.
At least get the 26" or 27".
I just put mudzillas on my 650 a few minutes ago. I will ride it tomorrow. The 650 looks completly different now that those tires with the little bumpy things have been replaced with tires that have real ****. It scratched up the lawn, lifted a back tire and squirted something yellow on a bush, then started chasing the neighbor's pickup truck away.
There is plenty of clearance. They added a full 2". I know that's not half of the difference in diameter between the new and the old tires, but the mudzillas are stiffer and maybe the old 25" tires weren't quite 25"? I Don't know. I do know that the quad is 2" higher. I did not bother measuring circumferences or rolling distances.

Earthjam,
Check out www.maxxistires.com,and see if you like anything you see there. I have 27/12/12 rear and 27/19/12 front mud bugs, they are great in mud and handle good on dry trails also also 6ply,so you don't have to worry so much about flats they ride a little stiffer, but you can't have everything.Happy Holidays!!
