Lakota Good Enough?
#1
I like the looks and price of the Lakota, but im not sure if the Lakota will provide me with the ride I need. Considering a Big Bear 4x4, to thinking about the Lakota, its kind of a big jump. Where I ride, it is mostly rough trails with rocks, and rocky powerlines with occasional mudholes. Ground clearence with the Lakota just might be what I see as one of the bigger problems. If I go with the Lakota, I will definatelly get full skids on it. But still, I dont want to get stuck on rocks. Also, I dont want to get stuck in muddy areas (from the 2wd). I will probly look for a 2000, cause I like the green version over the blue. This isnt all that bad, cause it will even drop the price to about $2500. Very affordable to a 15 year old, over $4500 for a big bear. If anyone has experience with the Lakota in the areas like what I will be riding in, any reviews or comments would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks!

mike,
I like my lakota more so now than when my wife brought it home.
Excellent trail machine, very quick.
It is the best of both worlds if you ask me.
The ground clearence is a issue, but so aren't the others.
I've had mine sence august road in every thing I could find so far and only been stuck twice, once they don't make a machine in this world that would have gotten out and the other would have taken a while for a 4x4.
Thiers a guy about your age on here that has a 98 and he has 25" tires on his and he has alot of pictures on here that show him in all kinds of mud and water, I think he made some comments on a lakota rebuild thread.
Do a search on lakotas, it was in the last ten days and I believe 98lakota started the thread.
I was able to get my 01 for 3600 out the door, as for used ones, mines the only one I've ever sene
