Well gents, in the new ATV Sport there is a sport quad buyers guide complete with dyno readings (on the machines they have them on anyway). They stated the Lakota Sport has 13.8. Thought I would share that with ya'll.

Also, there is an interesting tire in their "The Goods" section. They are ITP XCR tires. They look similar to a Holeshot or Razr type tread pattern, but state they are for cross-country race applications(6ply). They have split side ***** for increased side bite and quicker cornering. They are in 20" size though. I'm not really sure if this is a bad thing or not. I like 20" tires, but I'm worried about my ground clearance. I guess with a good set of skid plates, it wouldn't be as big of a deal. About $68 apiece it said too.

Just some info. I thought I would pass on.

Oh yeah! I find it real interesting about the stock needle performing better than the Dyno jet. The Dyno Jet is a lot thinner too. Gaff, did you ever get a chance to call them and see what they had to say about that?

We should start a Lakota club and/or all get together sometime and ride. That would be awesome. Too bad we are all so far apart. For the most part anyway.

You guys know, what else kills me (probably not and don't want to, I know ). All these "kids" in some of the other forums with just flat out awesome quads in the + $10,000 mark and sweet trucks and what not to tow them around. What the hell am I doing wrong. How much money do you have to make? I just don't get it.

I don't believe all the post that i read. 10,000 quads, 35,000 trucks and 20,000 trailers. We are not doing something right.

Stebob-we invited 2 ds650's down to plat last week. Had a good time. They were piped jetted air box mods and no rev limiters. my raptor came out on top.

We are planning a trip to kermit the 1st week of jan. Rex still has his 400 ex.

Hay stebob, how have you been doing,

As usuall I have a couple of comments.
First off 13.8 horse, this is what my brother told me as well.
I just started to feel good when I found kawi claims 25 horse on the mojave and less tourque than the lakota. so I thought well the guys are probably rite, man what a let down!
I also seen the tires you are talking about, and only seen 20" rears and I believe it was 21" fronts.
As nthewnd posted he has the size I want.

I have contacted dynojet, had to bust out with the micrometer and calipers and take a bunch of measurements, and that was yesterday. I'm not going to give up and hope to have some answers by next week.
In the mean time try it out stebob and 14mins, it is quite a difference.

I would love to start some type of club with you all, I know we live pretty far away, but that just means we can't ride as much.
I intend on making atleast two gncc events this spring, macon for sure and probably the one in tennessee, I plan on contacting those poeple when I head that way.
As far as you stebob, I'll be in your area in june, and bad lands is a place I want to say I have been. As far as 14min goes I don't live to far from him now, maybe after the hollidays I can head that way.
I had a guy e-mail me who doesn't post, just reads and I'll be meeting him the week after x-miss.
And I have been following you and your DS buddies for the past couple of weeks 14!

As far as these guys with all this big time with them, I've been a Technician for twenty years on offshore oil rigs and I just guess I must be living wrong, or maybe it's the four kids two dogs two cats two birds, or maybe the morgage, the doctor bills, the dentist bills, the all mighty Insurance bill, or maybe the flute that seems to get broke beyond repair, or the trumpet that is out dated and needs a new one, or maybe the big one the wife that believes x-miss means a good time of year to run your self broke.
But it's probably me and my son going off riding every place we hier of a good race or an awsome place to ride.

But realy guys would you want all that stuff, for what!

14mins, Man I wish I were closer. So you got to ride with a couple of DS650's huh? How did they run? Was it a close drag? I know your Raptor runs dam good and I can ride a wheelie on it like no tomorrow. To bad Bobbie didn't get that one on tape. Rex still has the 400 huh. Well, one of these days I'm gonna have to hop it on it for him and blow the carbon out of it . How is the track? Changed much since I have been there?

I don't believe all the posts that I read, but.....

NTHEWND, How do your holeshots perform in the mud and sand? This sounds like what I want too, but I do get into the mud and right from the mud to the sand. The stock Goodyears just suck.

Gaff, I've been doing pretty good. Working too much I know that. back here at 8:30am. Just left at 9:15pm last night. I'm worn out. Off Sunday and work 10:30am to 9:00pm Monday. I so need to hit the lottery.

I'm sure the horsepower Kaw. claims is off the crank and not the rear wheels. 13.8 is kinda disappointing, but they still run good. The 250EX had 11.x. The 300EX had about the same as the Lakota. I don't have the mag in front of me now to give exacts though.

Yes, Gaff it seems as though the, well 1 kid for me and 1 dog, and all the other bills(don't want to bore you by listing all of them), student loans, and everyday life keeps me pretty well broke. Finally got the hospital bills paid off. WOOOHOOO! But there is always something else to take up that cash.

Oh yes! I forgot to tell you all I saw the boys new ride. Very nice! It has adjustable shocks front and rear. Headlight already installed, it's factory. It's white and blue. It looks real sporty, I was surprised. Cool lookin machine. I actually got to ride it. I got in the gravel and punched it, the little rear tires just broke loose and spun till I hit the pavement. It's quite fun. It tops out in the 20's somewhere. Runs real good. I will choke it down for him though. I think the power and speed it has will last him for quite sometime. Can't wait to ride with him.

Funny thing about those student loans, you may forget them but they WON'T forget you!!

Gaff, this quad is a cool little machine. It is far more than what I expected. It is an Xtreme Machine X90. Electric start, kick start back up. No reverse. 2 stroke. Smokes quite a bit. Not sure if this is just due to being 2 stroke and/or not broke in. It has less than 10 hours on it.

I have to go look at one.
The best I found so far is the little suzuki, but I haven't seen the extreme mechine nor the kasea.
Generaly two strokes smoke quite a bit, expecialy when thier cold.
If it's oil injected, you can adjust your injection rate, and thier usualy idiot proof, meaning if you put it on it's lowest setting that it's still plenty.
Or if you mix it don't try to go leaner on the oil, just try to find a better oil.
These things are jetted fat, I believe more so than the four strokes.

Man your going to love riding with him.
I have been riding with my son for four years now, he is a blast!
You will find you will have more fun watching and teaching him than riding your self.
Then you will be like me a fourty year old kid going on fifteen.
My wife hates it, every time we hier something cool like a cool place to ride or a good race, were gone.
But keep me posted stebob, this adjustable shock thing is the best I've hierd about the little quads so far.
I have looked at many, and thier hard as a rock, and I wiegh 230 lbs.
I even thought if thats all we have to choose from, then I'd rather have the 125 breeze, but did you see the price of them!!!

Yeah! They cost about as much as 1 for us!! This thing is oil injected. I haven't got my hands on the owner's manual or a shop manual for it yet. I didn't bring the manual home for fear of leaving it out somewhere. The rear shock seems to be pretty hard, for him. He's only weighs 65lbs. I'll have to mess with it when he gets it. They are adjustable, all 3. They have pre load only from what I can see, like the Lakota.
