any suggestions for fixing brakes on a Bayou 220?

I own a 1999 Bayou 220 and I was just wondering if there were any idea's for making the pads last longer?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

yeah, just drag your feet or you could chek if they make a metallic brake pad. rob

Try tightening the wing nuts on all of the pads.There is one in the back and two in the front.This should tighten it up and also if this doesnt work get new pads.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

one of the quickest ways to wear brake shoes out is get water on them. Try sealing the drums better, and dry them out good when they get wet.

I know what you're talking about, I've owned 2 Bayou 220s ( 1988, 2000 ). Those brakes don't last long no matter how much sealing you do, get some EBC grooved brake shoes and they will last about twice as long as the stock shoes.
