650 noise and rear shock question
#1
Took my 650 in the snow this weekend, and in low range four wheel drive would sometimes feel like it would kick out of gear for a split second, bad sound. Didnt do it in high. maybe a linkage adjustment? Sounds like when its not fully in 4x4 mode and it kicks out? only much faster rate..
And my rear shock seems to be sagging now... Almost like its lost some of the gas inside. I can pick up the rear about 4 inches, is that normal? Will they recharge it? 450 miles on it and rather not see the dealer, they have done enough damage to my machines.
Thanks for any input!!!

mine did thae same i beilieve the shift linkage is the source had a guru mechanic at the dealer dial it in an she shifts like a Lexus i have nioticed it getting notchy again so it seems to need another adjustment but thats after 1000 miles not bad and i think that it could be done as some folks on the list have done there with successs
good luck

I had what sounds to be a similar problem. In low range I would get a ratcheting sound and the engine brake was not working effectively. It was a shift linkage problem. Once I got the linkage adjusted it was fine. Also the engine braking worked much better after the adjustment, I guess I wasnt fully engaged into my forward gears. As far as the shock issue I dont have that many miles on my 650 as of yet and I have no noticable diff between new and now.

The dealer should replace your shock. If it is sagging that much it IS bad. I had the same notchy shifting on my Sportsman. 5 minute linkage adjustment by the dealer and smooth as glass.
