Thanks for all the good idea's... Here's a few more questions...

1. How do Glasspacks work?- and how/where are they installed? Do they lessen horsepower?

2. I was under the impression that dual-exhaust will hurt power and gas milage...

3. Does the "tip" effect the sound of the exhaust?- how so? Big=Better sound?

4. What's the difference with X pipe and Y pipe? How do they effect performance? is the X really in the shape of an X?

5. What do I have (stock) 2 pipes into 1 exhaust? What should I change it to?

-also- I'm considering a lift (6&quot... why do people do a combination on their lift... 3" Body and 3" suspension... why not do a straight 6" suspension lift.

Thanks for all your thoughts....

Brian

Get you some 3inch alumnized straight pipes. My b-law has them on his chevy 3/4 ton and man is it loud.

Gaff is right about your truck losing power off the start and reduce the problem put a "Y" pipe on your dual exhaust. If you want to do this by yourself. Paint your exhaust from the header for about 3ft. Take your truck for a run for long enough to burn the paint off to a place where the paint is not burned on the pipes. For example if the paint is gone from the header to about 2 1/2ft down the pipes that's where you connect your "Y". Cut holes and weld in the new piece of pipe and you will solve your initial power doldrums.

I forgot to tell you, www.truckperformance.com has a large inventory of performance products for your F150.

They have smog legal, emissions fittings included, headers from gibson, jba and bassani.

The have blowers, intake stuff, chip stuff, NOS, power pulleys. Its really easy and friendly to order online from them.

Don't let what I said about my chip deter you. Mine may not have been set as well as they have done for other models.
