the Lakota was going to lose against the 250EX in the new Dirt Wheels shootout. As Honda biased as I feel they are, they actually declared the Lakota the victor. After all the great things they have said about the 250EX and no so good things about the Lakota. I thought that was pretty cool. I personally think the Lakota is a better machine too. Does anyone have a rear brake problem on the Lakota? They said it didn't work to well for them. Wondered if any of you guys have noticed this. Oh well, I thought that was interesting and would share that with ya.

Well between dirt wheels and atv action, I don't ever believe either one.
I remember that about 9 months ago they had nothing good to say about the lakota, and then about three months back they were so creaming thier selves over the little EX they forgot about the other four bikes they were reporting on.
Now you tell me they have something good to say about the lakota's. Yah good ole dirt wheels.
Maybe thier talking about that slotted linkage on the back braek, man I have to take the time to fix mine, I hate it!!!

The only problem I have had with the back brakes is the slot in the foot pedal that Gaff is talking about. I welded mine up and drilled it out like they suggested here at ATV Connection and tightened up the spring and it is much better now.

Man I have been soooooo meaning to do that 98, I have complained about it nearly every time I road.
I have a few more things to get in order for the rebuild and I'll do it then.

Now both of you are here, what about loretta lynns on april 20/21st.
I know 98 lives closest to the track, but what about you stebob, think you can make it!!

I certainly won't be racing but I'm sure gonna try to go! Yeah, the slot is loose, I need to do what '98 did as well.

Hay 14min on the smokin 322 thread says he'll be there.
Stebob, we don't have to win, think about just bringing your quad, I'm afraid your going to regret it!
If not and things get tight they have a morning and a afternoon sessions, take mine and I'll just race what you don't.
I plan on just going novice, but I can go anything realy even senior, just don't tell any body. Ya know, no gray hair or anything yet, just keep it quiet

Gaff,
I definitely planned on bringing my quad. Learned from I went to the Ironman, if you didn't bring your quad yous walkin a long way! I don't know about the racing part though, we'll see.

Gonna go to the Badlands on Sun. Man, it's been so nice and warm here, 50's today. That is unreal for up here this time of year. Of course, it is now supp. to get cold this week and even colder by weekend. Oh well, got to ride with the boy Sat. and Sun. Man, that little quad moves. I think I'm gonna choke it down a little. Get it on the gravel, nail it and the tires just light up and keep on spinning. Pretty cool. Was a lot of fun. Since I can't get a float valve 'till the come in off backorder, I'm not gonna take the Lakota to the Badlands. I'm gonna take my buddies 400EX, should be fun. It's got a FMF Power Core IV, stage 2 Dyno Jet, K&N filter, Outerwears, Outwears shock covers, and Graydon nerf bars. It runs pretty good. The Lakota is no match in a drag, woods..diff. story. I really realize how bad the stock tires are on the Lakota when getting onto his though. I think the Razr's will make more of a diff. than I realize with the offset wheels too, when I get them down the road that is.

I hierd alot of talk in a chat room about flipping the front tires around how well the lakota handles, I was even told that the wider stance gave the front shocks a different feel. I'm going to do it and take her riding to check it out.
Don't have to tell me about the weather, muscle shirts and shorts here.

well Gaff, this will put a smile and a shake to your head....I ordered the 13 tooth sprocket last night. I also ordered the Pro Grip Carbon light sensing goggles too. Ordered a pair of O'neal boots for the boy too. Let me know what you think of flipping the wheels. Good idea but mine are bent around the edges pretty bad, Douglas is calling my name...
