Lakota Cam???
#2
Theres more to choosing a cam than meets the eye.Theres no one cam that is perfect for every application. You need to be more specific as to where you want your power to be(top end,mid range or low rpms). What mods do you have already? exhaust, airfilter, compression, gearing even your altitude all factor in.

I have researched the cam deal and what do you want to know.
Webb cam will make you one, they perfer to have your head and cam to play with, cost $150
FST also makes a cam, cost $150.
I have some mods and presently installing a 322 kit in a 01 lakota, no matter who offers what everything for the lakota is special order!!!!
Let me know what you want to know and if I can't answer it there's a few buddies I have on here who nearly can answer any thing!!

I want to help the bottom to mid rpm range. I want it to "pull"in that area. What do you reconmend? How long does it take to send them the cam and have them return it back to you? I am about the get a supertrapp and k@n and wiseco or fst piston. Can both pistons run on 93 octune pump gas? I am at the same gears as stock but hopefully will move up to a 13c/s sprocket I am about 300-400 feet above sea level
Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks

The pipe and jet kit wake the quad up alot, the 24" tires with a 13T sprocket, I don't know if you will like that gearing but I also don't know how much of a difference the tires are going to make. Sprockets only $6.99
At www.rockymountainatv.com you can get the IDS2, dynojet jet kit, K&N air filter and 13T sprocket for $298, wich includes shipping, and you will be very happy with the power gain these will give you.
Web cam told me they didn't believe they had done a lakota cam, but would do one for me. 14mins had a web cam and he had to have it done twice due to they gave him a bayou cam at first, and then he sent the lakota cam. He had told me the web cam was kinda mild and if I went with web to ask them for a more agressive grind.
FST offers a cam, but he needs time to make them, he had told me that he had plenty of lakota cores but to make one for me it would be special order. FST's cam doesn't require heavier valve springs so you can replace it without removing the head. so what I'm doing is to have him build the cam out of one of his cores and when he is done I'll remove mine and send it to him, just to save on a core charge, I don't know how long shipping will take but I ordered my 322 kit on monday and recieved it that following saterday.
My thoughts, The head on the lakota is very poor, I think it needs a mild port and polish atleast, the cam is the hart of a four stroke, although the stock cam isn't bad I think a advanced grind will realy help the mid to top end pull. The problem with any cam is they take some from the bottom end, so a higher compression probably is a must, well for me any way, FST offers a high comp. piston for $150, he said he can do them at any comp ratio, but had suggested to me to go with 10.5:1, and this will run off of pump gas. I personally went with the 322kit, but I'm funny like that.
The pipe will realy wake it up and you'll have to make a decision from thier.
