Currently I have a 11/54 Ratio and I mostly ride on a little Quad track but there are a couple of strait areas around my house where I top out lot, and want to go faster, But I also do a little trail riding sometimes so my question is should I get a 14 tooth front sprocket? How much speed to you think I will gain, and will I loose much low-end Torque? Thanx.

only go up one tooth at a time. In your case go to a 12T sprocket.
As far as how much more speed and low end loss, don't know what quad we are talking about so can't comment.
The larger counter sprocket won't only make the top end a bit faster but will stretch out every gear quite a bit. Try looking at www.rockymountainatv.com, they have some steel sprockets for $6.99

ok, The Vehicle I was talking about it an offoad Kart and I wanted some TOP speed, so you don't think that increasing to a 14t is not good? So I should just go a tooth up? Thanx

Raising the front sprocket by one tooth will raise your speed in EVERY gear by about 10%, assuming that your motor can pull the same RPM with the higher gearing. It will also make you lose about 10% in acceleration in every gear. In other words, if your top speed is about 50 mph now, and your motor can pull the higher gearing (a pretty big if), your top speed with a one tooth larger front sprocket will be about 55 (50+10%).

Good luck,
Lorrin
