port and polish!

If you are doing that you might as well do other things to your engine. I couldnt tell because when I got it port and polished I did other think like race-cams new piston. But overall if was way more powerful. like day and night

Remember the Mojave has double of everything the lakota has (like valves, cams) so I guess the Mojave would benifit more.
MXracer98,
Can the difference in speed be felt? What about hard hitting acceleration. Ohh yea what grind cams do you have??

The problem with the lakota is it won't rev out, if you short shift it about 2/3rds throttle you will find more power. One thing that can be done is lift your front hood off, here you will find a snorkle cap that covers the air intake, another way would be to eliminate the air box and put on a clamp on air filter, but that can be risky to water entry.
Port and polishing is a huge answer for the lakota, but port and polishing will suffer graetly to the bottom end. Answer, higher comp piston, and then you can opt for a cam later.
Sense the lakota has a side entry cam and heavier valve springs aren't needed you can swop cams at any time.
If your searious about port and polishing and a high comp piston, email me and I'll do it for ya!!!!!!

The diffrence in my Mojave now is like night/day compared to a stock mojave. We dragged them and the stock Mojave was destroyed. Acceleration hits pretty hard mid-top range, but you have to rev it and it loses a little bottom end to. I have the web-cam, race cams mid-top range I cant remember the grind number.

When I rebuilt my Lakota I had the head ported and polished along with stiffer valve springs. Gaff is right about loosing some bottom end, but the difference in the top end is like night & day. I ended up going back to the 12 tooth front sprocket to get my torque back. Now it pulls hard from the bottom all the way to the top.
