I was just wondering if anyone new how many jet sizes you usually have to go up when installing a clamp on filter. Right now my mo runs well but it is slightly rich(smokes a little black and plug is a little black. I removed the airbox lid to see if this would help lean it out a little. I was wondering if a clamp on would lean it out to much?? Thanks for the help.

I forget exactly how much I went up, but it does lean it over the stock airbox setup.
How did you remove the lid and the filter not fall off?

mordr,My filter is a uni and it fits pretty snug. I didn't go very far just around the house and yard to see if it still smoked. I'm not sure what to do right now. I added some more discs on my pipe and that made it seem to run a little cleaner plus it seems to have shifted my power farther up the range which is what seems to work best with the mo. When I run what dynojet recommends I'm a little lean and then I go up one main size and I'm rich. I lowered my needle a notch and that helped out but I still need to lean it out a little. I'm stuck between the dj130 and the dj134. Maybe I'll try my factory 132 but keep the dj needle. Any other suggestions anyone???

My mo is smoking black which is because its a little rich. If it smokes blue then thats oil burning and if its white or gray it is coolant burning(head gasket or cracked head). If yours smokes black that is strange because with the clamp on you should have to jet up. Jets aren't very expensive(5 pack in dennis kirk for 16.99 I think)

I'm not sure what would be wrong with your bike. I've never seen one thatb smokes all of the time. Let me know what you find out. Sorry I couldn't help.

kid13, take your spark plug out and have a look at it. if it is black you are rich, but you also mentioned blue smoke in another post.

Since I'm stuck between the 130 and 134 dynojets does anyone think going back to the 130 with my needle on the fourth clip might help. I have the 134 with it on the second clip now but I'm a little rich and if I put the 130 and my clip on the 3rd notch I'm lean. I'm not lean enough to run bad but my plug indicates I'm slightly lean. What do you think???
