I'm getting a bad noise from the belt area on my 650. It sounds like an old diesel motor. It did it today while I was stopped with it idling. I've been getting a grinding noise coming from the actuator motor on top of the belt housing but my dealer told me they hear it but can't find anything wrong. I have 900 km and 70 hrs on my bike. I had the belt adjusted at 300 km. Has anyone else had trouble with the acuator motor on top of the belt housing? If I climb a steep hill and start spinning the noise from the acuator is very noticeable.

I guess you know that actuator is supposed to back off while you are moving?

Take the belt cover off, jack up the back and have a look with it running. Look for wrong assembly, or bent stuff.

Are you sure your shift linkage is not out of adjustment causeing gear slippage? I guess not, since you are descibing something else.

Maybe your dealer only took it for a spin and did not take the cover off.
