I would consider taking the case apart if it were more cost effective, and the end result was better than a whole lot of money spent on other top end or intake stuff. I realize the need for some of things to add together, but money constraints always affect how far I will go.

Mickey, you are the guy with the dyno. I am sure you will figure out what needs improving the most, whether cdi, cam, carbs, etc.
