HOW FAST WILL YOUR PRARIE 650 GO?
#11
I had mine at 69mph, on the road, with alot of room. It got to 63 or so pretty fast but then it needed some room to top out. I also hit 66 in 4x4 racing a banshee, I beat it. The field was rather wet and the banshee spun a little too much. It is bone stock, I weigh about 175lbs. This thing rocks.

On a very hard pack dirt road, with very slight curves, I was able to reach 67 mph. I then turned around and road it back the opposite direction on the same stretch of road and hit 66 mph. I wanted to check the speed in both directions to get an average speed in case the road was not perfectly level. The road had a pretty long stretch with only slight curves in it, and then became too curvy to keep it at full throttle. But during the Simi straight length, I was able to obtain the above-mentioned speeds. I live in Las Vegas NV, and the elevation is around 2,300 feet. The temp was about 65 degrees F. I only weigh 145 lbs so that may help with me being able to reach these speeds. I wish I had several miles of straight flat road, to see if it would go even faster! My 650 is completely stock right down to the Dunlop tires, I had about 11 hours on it at the time, right after the first 10 hour service. I have since removed my racks, which lightens the 650 up by 22 lbs. I don't know if that will make a difference, but it sure cant hurt and I don't haul anything on the racks anyway. I think it makes the 650 look allot sportier. I got the idea after seeing Mike Penlands GNCC Prairie 650!
