cutting fenders

Should i cut my fenders and get a PLATE SMOOTHY HOOD from Maier, or i could just get the PLATE SMOOTHY HOOD and live my fenders stock? If i do cut my fenders on my Mojave what should i us to cut them? And what color hood should i get? I have green plastic on my 01 Mojave. Thanks

Don't cut your fenders if you do any trail riding at all. Mine were cut when I bought my Lakota, and I hate the mud flying in my face.

i love my cut fenders
draw a line where you want it cut and cut them roughly with a hack saw then slowly work your way down to the line with a utility knife and finish it off with very fine sand paper

A Dremel tool with a metal cutting disc on it worked great on mine. As mojaveman said just sand it after the cuts.
I have a Maier black screened hood and it looks good. Fit like crap though. Took a lot of modification to fit right.

edit:Forgot to tell you to cut off less that you intend to with the first cut-you can always cut more, but you can't add it back on.
