Whooohooo! My Mojave scoots now!
#1
Some of you will remember about a month ago I posted about my egg shaped Mojave cylinder and the excess oil in the airbox.Since I rebuilt it.I have been riding it when I get the chance,I have about 10 hours on it now.I went riding with some friends today. One friend has a 450 Honda rancher. We drag raced and my Mo will pull his 450 from the start. He has a speedo on it,his top speed is 55mph,I can walk him! I'm guessing my Mo will do 60-62 mph now.
The other friend has a 400 ex.He has more top speed than I do .....but in a drag race were neck and neck as long as I keep in my powerband, then he walks me when I run out of gear.He even commented on how well my bike runs.
Of course the day couldn't be perfect. On the way home I developed a buzzing/rattle sound.Seems that the heat shield on the headpipe was loose.I rode home and attempted to tighten the screw, which broke off leaving the broke off part still in the pipe.I just removed the heat shield alltogether. It never ends with this bike does it!

Same thing happened to me with the heat shield. I even tried to remove the broken off bolt and then said ***** it! Of course I then burned a hole in my gore-tex snowpants a few months later.
I figure it now gives me a reason to but an IDS2. Just whenever I decide to spend the money

Real glad to see things worked out, thought we were going to loose ya thier for a while
glad to see the performance up. Poeple take the 400EX lightly these days, but as you know it's tough to match up against. Even with all the new quads coming out.
