The 450 is a great machine, but it does not have the performance the 650 does. It will get you were you need to be, and is fairly quick. But if you want to not only keep up with your friends, but pass them as well, go for the 650. The 650 also has a much smoother ride.
Instread of the 450, why are you not considering the Rubicon?

You cannot imagine how happy that you would be with a Prairie 650. Not that the Foreman 450 is bad, it just does not match the raw performance. Ironically, my high priced Honda dealer want just a few hundred less than I paid for my 650.

The 450 is a good bike. Very reliable. But it really doesn't even compare in performance to the 650. When I was in the market for a new 4x4, the rubi was more money than the 650.

Ditto..to each response. I have nothing against Honda,. I've had quite a few Honda bikes. The 650 is really in a different class than the Foreman though. I think most can be impressd with the 650 performance.

Personnally I think that if you wan't a pure mudding machine you and keep up, or even pass your friends in that thick stuff you should go for a Grizzly660, better groud cleareance and sub frame designe, du to its fully indeendant suspension!!! But If you are a trail rider who loves mud, like me, go for the Kawi 650, It's monoshock rear suspension makes for a much more stable ride at higher speeds. The 450 is more of a utility machine, very reliable and strong, but the speed, acceleration and suspension are not to be compared with it's bigger contestents, Just wait for that rad new Rincon 650, Wow Honda on 4 whell indeendant suspension, and liquid cooled engine, This will be great.
