I made a mount that custom fitted my GPS to the plastic shroud around the instrument panel. Works great, perfect viewing and looks good too. I don't how to post photos on this forum so if you give me your e-mail address, I'll send you a few pictures.

I used one of the Magellan winshield mounts with suction cups. I just stick the suction cups to the top of the air filter cover and bend the mount to make it easy to see while riding.

It did take a little fabrication but not too much. I was walking around in my shop one evening looking for something I could make a mount out of. I just happened to see my old trailer brake assembly that was removed from my truck. A light bulb came on in my head and I took the bracket off the brake control, determined where I needed to bend the metal and did so. I then welded a piece of flat stock to the back side, drilled a hole to match the hole in the back of the Garmin GPS III, and got some screws and lock washers. I bought enough (5) so that in case I lose one I have some back ups. I did use rivets to secure it to the shroud, four of them. Look around your shop and let your imagination run wild. There's no telling what kind of mount you can come up with. Good Luck...
