It's your snorkle for your air intake. I had to trim mine down so it would fit.

one more thing, would a NONvented hood be bad for the radiator? heat wise...my dad says that the radiator needs air otherwise it will overheat, so is he right?

I've been running a non-vented hood for well over a year and haven't had any problems.

I cut my fenders very similiar to the way yokleys are cut but I chose the black hood because theres a good chance the maier green isn't going to blend well with the kawasaki green.

I like the black hood better. Maier did not have very good fit and finish when I got my hood-don't know about now.

The maier smoothy hoods fit great! The green matched pretty good when I had mine. Click on the link beloe and see what mine looked like before I got the orange plastics and black smoothy hood.

Hope that helps.

mojavekid13-Mine is actually a Uni 2 stage foam-I just measured the carb opening and ordered what fit from Dennis Kirk-I'm not sure what you mean by stock or universal because Mojaves come stock with a huge mess of an airbox-not a clamp on like we have.
So I assume yours probably was done the same as mine-just picked one that fit.
