Tecate 4 info.
#1
I have a 2002 Blaster with a Toomey pipe/ silencer and a reed spacer but soon I will be looking for another quad and I came upon the Tecate. I need to know a few things: How does it handle, Is there alot of maintanance and how is the suspension compared to a Blaster for example. Should I try to find a Tecate or go with a 250R?

Iown a tecate 4 and a 250R and I ride the tecate 4 and leave the 250r to my friend to ride.
Since I know both machines well I'll do a little comparsion:
Power-Tecate...no question. I just hopped up mine and the difference is even bigger.
Powerband-that's a question of preference. Plus you can alter it. Stock the R has a bit more lowend, midrange is almost equal and the T4 rips'em all on topend. Mine T4 is tuned for more lowend and I have a 14/46 sprocket set which also gives more lowend.
suspension-honda. The kawi fronts are stiffer at slower speeds but same at high speed. Rear-same
handling-honda is more stable, turns more easily. Kawi needs more effort to turn without feeling tippy but turns quicker andis faster in the woods 'cuz it's more narrow. Jumping-tecate. It feels lighter and is easier to manuever.
Maintanence-same. they're both 2 strokes.
if you have anymore comparitive questions, let me know.
