I'm shopping for new rear tires. Can any one compare the Holeshot, Razr and Shredder for grip, wear and ride. I hear the Razr is soft and tend to wear quicker. The Shredder appears to have a denser pattern, does the shredder tend to pack with mud? Does 6 ply come at an added cost of weight, and is it significant?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

Doesn't matter wich tire you get it will be heavier than the stock ones.

I like the Razzors alot, but at the same time I like the new holeshot XCT's as well. Both of those sets of tires can not be compared to. They are top of the line excellent tires, grip, ware and side wall protection.

I had to get the shreader rears wich I can not tell you one bad thing about. They do have a softer side wall than the razzors and holeshots but they do very good. I had a time where we were stuck in some very sloppy slippery mud and we had to cross a creek probably close to or at 2' deep. I looked at the rear shreaders before we crossed and they were completly packed with mud. At the time I put my daughter on the lakota and I got on the bayou, thinking the bayou would have some trouble, but when the lakota hit the water my daughter hit the gas and within one revolution of the rear shreaders they were as clean as new, she made it threw like there was no water or mud. This was a excellent review for me but you use your judgement.

The 23X7X10 front XCT's I have, well I will never own any tires on the front again. These things work so well in so many ways it would take me a week to explain.

What ever you do, stick with 20" tires on the rear.

 

I think that the Maxxis All-Traks are great rear tires. Even though that they're 2-ply they are a great all around tire for any kind of trail riding. I've only had them for about 2 months now but they are cheap money wise but a good tire all around.

 

Titan fast trekkers are a great value. They're strong, do the job and cost less.

 

I have Shredders on mine. They are hardly showing any signs of wear after over a year. As compared to stock which i wore out in 3 months. They do pack up rather easy in clay,or real thick mud, however i think the other two would also. I personally like them and would recomend them.

 

I have Shredders on my Lakota. After 1 1/2 yrs of racing and riding on them, they are still well over half tread. They do hold mud, but they also clean out easy, but like 2000Mojave said, the others will as well. I would like to try the new Razr 2's, they look like the tread is spaced far enough apart that they wouldn't pack up as much as the others.

 

pound for pound and dollar for dollar there is no better tires then the turf tamers. wear like stell great traction everywhere.why do you think the pros use them.

 

Well the pros also never leave them stock!!!They have specil tire cutting tools and they re tread them!!!I would have to say that Razers are the best
